Peony Splendor

Peonies have a short blooming season but while they’re in flower, the garden is a glory of spectacular, brilliant color. Peonies always remind me of voluptuous Renaissance women, full and lush, heavy on their stems. Their fragrance is subtle, yet heady, and three or four flowers makes a wonderful bouquet. Flowers in my garden, flowers in my house….it’s as close to heaven on earth as one can get.

  1. Absolutely beautiful images, Celia! Happy to find your blog yesterday. As I was typing my own post about peonies, it came up as a related post, so I included it in my “related articles” section. It’s at the bottom of this post, if you’d like to check it out: http://www.joyfullygreen.com/2015/05/monday-snapshot-puffy-pink-peonies-plus-special-announcement.html. Your work is lovely and I look forward to seeing more of it.

    Warmly,
    Joy Sussman
